Get Ready for Spring: 5 Things to Reupholster with Sunbrella Fabric Before the Warm Weather Rush

1/22/2026

January and February might seem like an odd time to think about outdoor furniture, but if you're a homeowner or business owner in Peabody and the North Shore, now is actually the perfect time to plan your reupholstery projects. While everyone else waits until April or May when the weather warms up, smart folks are booking their spring and summer Sunbrella reupholstery work right now and here's why.

At Landry Home Decorating, we see the same pattern every year. As soon as that first warm weekend hits, our phones start ringing off the hook with people who just pulled their patio cushions out of storage and discovered they're faded, torn, or covered in mildew. Restaurant owners suddenly realize their outdoor dining areas need work before the busy season. Boat owners find their marine upholstery didn't survive the winter as well as they'd hoped. The solution? Premium Sunbrella fabric—the gold standard in outdoor upholstery that resists fading, mold, mildew, and stands up to years of harsh New England weather.

The problem? By then, everyone's competing for the same appointment slots, and you might be waiting weeks to get your furniture back—right when you want to be using it.

That's why February is your secret weapon. Book your Sunbrella reupholstery projects now, and everything will be ready and waiting when the weather turns. Plus, you'll have our full attention and faster turnaround times during our quieter season, with plenty of time to browse through hundreds of beautiful Sunbrella fabric options.

Let's look at five things you should consider reupholstering with Sunbrella right now to get ahead of the spring rush.
1. Outdoor Patio Furniture and Cushions
2. Marine and Boat Upholstery
3. Restaurant and Commercial Patio Seating
4. Sunrooms and Three-Season Rooms
5. Pool Furniture and Cabana Seating

Call Landry Home Decorating today at (978) 532-0907 to discuss your spring and summer reupholstery needs and see our Sunbrella fabric samples. Let's get your outdoor furniture, boat, patio, sunroom, or pool area looking fantastic with premium Sunbrella fabrics before the warm weather arrives. Your future self will thank you for planning ahead!

From Faded Gold to Stunning Blue: Antique Channel Back Loveseat Restoration

1/12/2026

When it comes to antique furniture restoration, few projects are as rewarding as breathing new life into a classic piece while preserving its timeless character. At Landry Home Decorating, we recently completed a stunning transformation of an antique channel back loveseat that perfectly illustrates the art of professional reupholstery.
The Before: A Tired Treasure
This beautiful antique loveseat came to us showing its age. The original olive-gold velvet upholstery, while once luxurious, had become worn and faded over the years. The fabric showed signs of deterioration, with visible wear on the seat cushions and overall dullness that diminished the piece's elegant lines.
Despite the tired upholstery, the loveseat's bones were exceptional. The gracefully curved wooden frame with its distinctive channel-tufted back, sweeping arms, and classic turned legs spoke to quality craftsmanship from a bygone era. This was clearly a piece worth saving.

The Vision: Wedgewood Blue Elegance
Working closely with the homeowner, we selected a gorgeous Wedgewood blue velvet for the restoration. This sophisticated shade offers the perfect balance of richness and serenity, breathing contemporary style into the antique silhouette while respecting its traditional roots.

Wedgewood blue has become increasingly popular in interior design for good reason. This soft, dusty blue-gray tone works beautifully in both traditional and transitional spaces, offering versatility that olive-gold simply couldn't match in today's interiors.

The Transformation Process
Our expert craftsmen carefully stripped away the old fabric, preserving the original frame and structure. We rebuilt and reinforced the cushions, ensuring both comfort and longevity. The channel-tufted back required particular attention to detail, with each vertical channel meticulously upholstered to maintain the piece's signature look.

The new velvet fabric was expertly applied, with careful attention paid to pattern matching and precise tailoring around the curved wooden arms. We finished the piece by cleaning and polishing the exposed wood frame, allowing its warm tones to complement the cool blue upholstery beautifully.

The After: A Showpiece Reborn
The result speaks for itself. This once-tired loveseat now commands attention in its sun-filled room, positioned proudly between bay windows where it can be properly admired. The Wedgewood blue velvet catches the natural light beautifully, creating depth and visual interest that changes throughout the day.

The contrast between the rich blue fabric and the warm wooden frame creates a sophisticated look that honors the piece's antique heritage while making it perfectly at home in a modern living space. The channel-tufted back, now crisply defined in the new fabric, showcases the loveseat's architectural beauty.
