About Abaca: Abaca fiber, indigenous to the Philippines and obtained from the Abaca, or Manila hemp plant (part of the banana family) is considered the strongest of natural fibers.  We use Abaca in a more traditional sense due to its lustrous, long staple fiber and its dramatic range of fiber color. In conjunction with environmental awareness we also carry a line of carpet from Mohawk that manufactures its luxuriously soft carpet from recycled plastic bottles, thus keeping more than one billion pounds of plastic from our landfills. Ask our staff about the Mohawk’s everSTRAND™ carpet fiber. And it doesn’t end with the carpet - every part of the plastic bottle is recycled, including the cap, the label, and the bottle. The cap and the label are used to make carpet cores around which the carpet is wrapped.
