| Custom Upholstery |
| If you’ve ever wished you could design your own furniture – the perfect love seat for the nook in your library, a chair that your six-foot husband could sit in comfortably, or a sofa that would actually fit up your stairs, ponder for a moment the idea of ‘custom new’. Imagine the benefits of fine furniture made to your specifications, and upholstered in the quality fabric of your choice. “You don’t have to be wealthy to own quality pieces of furniture”, says John Landry, owner of Landry Home Decorating. “Custom furniture means you control the budget, and you get exactly what you want.” |
|
Stage one:
When Landry has a customer interested in custom new furniture he and his upholstery foreman visit the home to discuss with the client the exact specifications for the new piece: height, depth, width, arm style, cushions style, etc. They prepare a template of the area the new furniture piece will be located then return to the warehouse to build a frame. In some cases, especially for custom sectionals, they bring the frame to the customer’s house and place it in the area to get precise measurements and make any necessary alterations before it goes into final production.

Stage two:
The second phase is to upholster the frames with the customer’s fabric selection which leads to the third and most important phase, the ‘seating’.
|
|
Stage Three:
The customer is invited to the upholstery warehouse to discuss the wide variety of cushions, from standard foam to down cushions or even organic, natural latex for those sensitive to allergens. |
| The handiwork of skilled upholsterers is evident in every piece. Attention to detail is obvious in the even welt lines, meticulously matching the chosen fabric pattern to each perfectly sewn seam. Furniture that is tailored with pride and crafted with skill is rare in our modern times. |
| “Our goal is to offer a high end product with the quality that our customers deserve and be absolutely thrilled with the finished product”, Mr. Landry explains. | |
